heights

Anybody else watching the hall of fame game like my wife and I? (yes, she is awesome) I always get excited about it because a new year of dreams of my Bengals making the super bowl dance in my head like a kid at Christmas. Glad that Santa hasn't kicked me in the teeth as many times as the Bengals have. Hey, they really have a chance if they can get everyone out of jail in time for the season...

Anyway. Heights. You like them? I can fly no problem, but heights kind of get to me. So tomorrow a friend and I are going to Cedar Point (my first time in 11 years or so). I love roller coasters big time, but the part I hate is the climb up the hill. The rest is amazing because you don't have time to think about it. But that sloooooooooooooooooooooooooow climb to the top makes you think, and sweat, and maybe even have a potty accident. And as you climb that hill and get to the top you look out at the beauty and it takes your breath away. A new perspective, something you don't see very often. You have soared to new heights.

It reminds me of what Isaiah said (40:31)--"They that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up on wings like eagles, they will walk and not be weary, they will run and not faint."

If you are like me, you want to soar to new heights and see the view like an eagle sees, but at times the view is more like that of an earthworm. Ever feel like that? I know I do...But remember, the climb to those heights is pretty scary and sometimes it seems like it takes forever, because many times it does.

But don't worry...God is there to keep you going (not be weary) and there to revive you (not faint) when you need His touch the most. Wait on Him...that is the power to unlocking His strength in your life, and that will give you to power to see life from a whole new perspective. Even when God seems a million miles away...

Go soar.
