handoff.
If you are a leader, you will resonate with this. I have had to learn this the hard way...Jesus taught leadership development this way (not sure where I heard this [mine])...
1. JESUS did it, THEY watched. [Observation]
2. THEY did it, JESUS watched. [Practice/Delegation]
3. THEY did it, and came back and reported what had happened to JESUS. [Transfer/Accountability]
Handing off the leadership baton will take us to new heights in whatever world we roam. In the KINGDOM of GOD...it is what has taken Christianity from 12 to a whole bunch (but of coarse not enough).
I am doing that @ home with my kids, especially Christian at his age.
We just did this at New Hope too. Pastor Jeff Cooper is our new Executive Pastor. It has been a long time coming! I am handing off all day to day responsibilities to him at all campuses and he will be a leader of leaders. We will soar to new heights as a church.
Our Executive Team and Elders are beyond excited about this move. Along with the new hires coming, and some shuffling that will go with this, we are heading to new places for THE KINGDOM! And don't worry, we have been transitioning this for awhile. (Since last Fall). Nothing will seem to change on the outside...but oh, so much will change. Let's learn to lead like Jesus did!
Where can you do the leadership hand-off in ministry, at your job, discipling and training your kids?
peace...and go BUCKS (to Jeff S. with love)
